Special Judge Bandit Effective Area Parvendra Kumar rejected the bail application of Pawan Thakur, accused of kidnapping Dr. Umakant Gupta, a resident of Trans Yamuna Colony, for a ransom of Rs 5 crore. The accused is a resident of Pura Bhagat of Nibohra. Let us tell you that on the evening of last July 13, Dr. Umakant Gupta was kidnapped. The police started the investigation after registering a case on the information of the relatives. After this the doctor was freed from Dholpur. Later it was revealed that a young woman named Sandhya had implicated her in her words on the pretext of getting the doctor a job. He was kidnapped by his comrades in Rohta. After this his ring, purse, Aadhar card, watch were robbed. Others including Pawan were involved in the incident. A ransom of Rs 5 crore was demanded. The court ordered to reject the bail application of the accused on the basis of the evidence available on the letter and the argument of ADGC Crime Adarsh Chaudhary.
20 years in prison for kidnapping and raping girl student
Special Judge POCSO Act Sarvjit Kumar Singh found the school driver Sunil resident of village Shymo, Tajganj guilty of kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl. He was punished with rigorous imprisonment of 20 years and fine of Rs 50,000. Directed to send a copy of the decision to the District Legal Services Authority to get half of the fine amount to the victim and to compensate the victim as per rules under the Victim Compensation Scheme.
A case was registered in this case at the Tajganj police station. On 19 November 2018, Sunil took the victim girl in his Eco car. Raped near village Bajhera located on Rohta canal. On the other hand, the family members reached chasing. They caught the accused along with the car. His companion ran away. The prosecution presented eight witnesses including the plaintiff, the victim in the court. The victim also confirmed the incident in her statement. The accused was the driver of the school.
