Don’t want to bring politics in cricket. BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal said that this time the T20 World Cup wanted to be held in India. In which there was a plan to have a match in Dharamsala as well. However, due to the fear of a third wave of Kovid-19 infection, it was shifted to UAE-Oman. The BCCI treasurer on Monday took stock of the land site earmarked for the cricket stadium at Paonta Sahib. He directed Sirmour Cricket Association President Atar Singh Negi and General Secretary Rajiv Babbi to complete all formalities at the earliest.
Himachal players shining at international level: Arun
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer Arun Dhumal said that Dharamsala is an international cricket stadium. Which is one of the best stadiums in the world. Today the cricketing talent of Himachal is shining all over the world. With the opening of new cricket academies in the state, new talent will emerge. Arun Dhumal was addressing after the inauguration of the first women’s cricket academy at Paonta Girls School on Monday. The BCCI treasurer said that Anurag Thakur, who became the Sports Minister of the country, had a dream that players from Himachal should play at the international level. The best sports stadium and facilities should be in the state. Today Himachal players Rishi Dhawan, Sushma Verma, Harleen and Renuka Thakur are representing the country in men’s and women’s categories.
He said that all the formalities of land acquisition for the cricket stadium at Paonta should be completed soon. So that Paonta Sahib Sports Stadium ground can be prepared. The stadium will be inaugurated by Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. HPCA Secretary Sumit Sharma said that the state has progressed in cricket under the leadership of Anurag Thakur. International level Dharamshala stadium was built. Earlier, Sirmaur Cricket Association President Atar Singh Negi raised the demand for a cricket stadium in Paonta. On this occasion SDM Paonta Sahib Vivek Mahajan, Manuj Sharma, Vijay Bhandari, RP Tiwari, Subhash Chaudhary, NPS Narang, District Sirmaur Cricket Association President Atar Negi and General Secretary Rajendra Babbi were present.
