Ranjit had told that he was friends with the daughter of Air Force Training Incharge. When he came to know about this, he threatened to ruin Ranjit’s career.
Ranjit, the famous villain of Hindi cinema, was in the Indian Air Force before venturing into acting. However, he was fired from there in training itself. He had a fight with the training in-charge, after which he was fired from the Air Force on charges of bad behavior. This story was mentioned by Ranjit himself. He had told that he was friends with the daughter of the in-charge. When he came to know about this, he threatened to ruin Ranjit’s career.
Ranjit had told in Parliament TV’s program, ‘Guftagu’, ‘I was in Part II in Hindu College and then I got selected in the Air Force. Leaving my studies, I had to go to Coimbatore for training. I was fired from the Air Force only after four to five months there. When there was some quarrel with our instructor, he threw me out on the charge of misbehavior.
When he was asked about the whole story, he said, ‘The family of our officers also lived in the campus. Sardar ji was our instructor and he had a daughter. I used to meet him and we used to talk on many topics. Well, I was a very shy boy. Our instructor sahib must have seen both of us once or twice. We used to meet in open fields and it was not like we used to meet every day. Maybe we will be meeting only when they have seen it.’
Ranjit had further told, ‘The instructor scolded and abused me. He threatened me that I will ruin your career. They didn’t know that we were just friends. I also replied angrily to him that what will you make my career, he makes the upper one. If the question of the girl is, then you take care of your girl. Tell me that even if you look around my daughter, I will ruin my career, take care of your daughter. So I was fired from the Airforce because of the girl.’
Ranjit earned a lot of name in films. However, negative characters also had an impact on his personal life. When he played a negative character in his very first film, ‘Sharmeely’, his family members were very angry with him. His family members had thrown him out of the house. Ranjit had told that the family members felt that even off-screen, Ranjit does similar acts and treats girls really badly.
