Lucknow. The Service Planning Department has taken major steps in providing employment opportunities to the unemployed youth of Uttar Pradesh. Gave them a new direction by doing Career Counselling. Along with providing information about employment opportunities in the market, worked to link employment and training courses. In four and a half years, the department has shown the way to more than 1115513 youth to get employment through 9929 career counseling programs.

Committed to provide employment to the youth, the state government started the career counseling program from 19 March 2017 in the employment offices of the state. The youth were made aware of the opportunities available in the job market. They were also admitted to vocational and training courses. Employment opportunities opened up for the youth who took advantage of the scheme and helped them to become self-reliant. More than 1115513 youth were benefitted by these programs which ran till 31 August 2021.

Help desk for career counseling of migrant workers

Not only this, during the Corona period, the government also set up a help desk for career counseling of migrant workers who came from other states after June 18, 2020. Through the helpdesk, the migrant workers were informed about various government schemes. They were helped in getting the benefits of government schemes. Along with the employment opportunities and various benefits given to the workers were introduced.

During this, the government did the work of skill mapping of migrant workers and workers. From the last financial year till September 10, 2021, 10,45,755 workers got employment in various departments. Which has also been marked on the employment portal sewayojan.up.nic.in. It is worth mentioning that the state government is continuously helping the youth of the state in getting employment opportunities by connecting them with the Mission Rozgar Yojana and organizing employment fairs.
