Saharanpur. After the uproar over the closure of the chicken shop on Chakrata Marg, the police have closed the chicken shops around the religious places. In view of Shakambhari fair, shops falling on Delhi-Yamunotri road will also remain closed.
The police has become active after a clash between workers of Hindu organizations and other class people who came with the shop owner late on Friday night over the closure of chicken shop near Nawabganj Chowk in Kotwali Nagar area. In view of Shakambhari fair and Navratri festival, the police have closed chicken restaurants and meat shops on Delhi Road, Behat Road, Shakambhari Marg till Dussehra. Along with this, meat shops located around religious places in the district will also remain closed.
SSP Dr. S Chanappa instructed all the station in-charges of the district to increase the security and take precautions. Said that meat shops around religious places should be completely closed till Dussehra.
Police engaged in identifying the accused
In the case of confrontation and firing over the closure of the chicken shop on Chakrata Marg, the police is engaged in identifying the accused. The police have also seized the CCTV footage installed at the two establishments, through which the police are identifying those who opened fire. SP City Rajesh Kumar said that the investigation of the case is going on, whoever is found guilty, will be sent to jail after registering a report against him.
