Shimla. The police has filed a charge sheet against four people, including the main accused Gurucharan Singh Grover, in the famous multi-crore ransom case of the capital Shimla. The case came up on 23 July 2019. The letter was received by the hotelier based in Mallroad, threatening to kill the children, including a family member, for not paying the amount of Rs 10 crore. Investigation revealed that the woman employee working in the cyber cafe of the main accused had written a threatening letter. After FSL investigation into the handwriting of the threatening letter written to the hotelier, the police is claiming to have solved this mystery.
In the investigation so far, it was believed that the threatening letter sent to the hotelier was written by the shoe trader. But, when the FSL investigation of the letter was done, the handwriting of the letter turned out to be that of a young woman working in the cyber cafe of the main accused. The main accused cyber cafe operator carried out the conspiracy very smartly. In order not to be caught by the police, the main accused first got the female employee to rewrite the letter for the purpose of correcting the mistakes. After this, the original letter was photographed and sent to speed post the letter to another worker working in the cafe to deliver the letter to the hotelier. But, the lie could not be hidden for long in the police investigation and the police brought out the truth of the matter. At present, both the personnel working in the cyber cafe of the main accused have been made government witnesses by the police. Superintendent of Police Dr. Monika Bhatungru said that samples of handwriting have been found in the letter and charge sheet has been filed.
