Shahjahanpur. The festival of Vijayadashami was celebrated with pomp on Friday. On Dussehra, the staging of the Leela of Ravana’s slaughter at Khirnibagh Ramlila came to an end. Dashanan and Kumbhakaran effigies were burnt late in the night.
A large number of people arrived on Friday to see the Leela and effigy burning of Ravana. At nine o’clock in the evening, the artists of Navchetna Kala Parishad performed Ahiravan slaughter along with worship of the form of Shrimaram, Lakshmana, Sita and aarti. Then Narantak was killed in the battle with Rama. After this, the actors playing the characters of Ram and Ravana staged a thrilling battle. On the advice of Vibhishana, as soon as Rama shot an arrow into Ravana’s navel, Ravana collapsed with a roar. With the killing of Ravana, the entire Ramlila area reverberated with the shouts of Jai Shri Ram. The effigies of Ravana and Kumbhakaran got burnt as soon as the fire broke out at around 12 o’clock in the night. The atmosphere reverberated with the sound of firecrackers. Fireworks went off for a long time. A large number of GICs gathered on the playground to see the burning of the effigies of Ravana and Kumbhakaran. Due to the crowd there was not even a place to set foot. There was a crowd on the surrounding streets.

At the conclusion of Shri Ram Leela staging, Cabinet Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna felicitated the artists and associates of Navchetna Kala Parishad at the newly constructed stage at GIC Sports Ground. Route diversion continued due to the fair
Due to the Dussehra fair on Friday, there was a route diversion on the roads leading to the GIC sports ground at Khirnibagh. Vehicles were not allowed towards GCI sports ground from roads like Islamia Tiraha, Kachari Tiraha etc., so that the problem of jam could be dealt with. Along with this, a large number of police forces were deployed in and around the fair site. DM Inder Vikram Singh and SP S. Anand took stock of the security arrangements. All the police officers including SP City and Countryside were on duty.
