Jammu. After two years in the temple city, the Navratri festival is in full swing. Various cultural and religious programs are being organized by the government and non-government organizations on Navratri. In this episode, a Dandiya Night was organized at Gulshan Ground in the city on Saturday, in which not only the Duggar culture but also the folk culture of North India got a glimpse. Folk artists from Rajasthan as well as from Jammu, Udhampur gave colorful cultural performances.
A glimpse of the culture of the state of Rajasthan along with Jammu and Kashmir was seen in the Dandiya Night organized by the Department of Tourism. Yesterday Gotam Parmar and Party from Rajasthan gave performances on Dandiya. The artists in traditional costumes won the hearts of the people by presenting the Dandiya dance, especially during Navratri. Along with this, beautiful performances on Garba added life to the program.
Garba and Dandiya Night started with the Dogri folk dance Dhantaras by Dhani Ram & Party, in which the artists presented folk culture. This was accompanied by performances by Jackson & Party and on Dogri folk dance, which was highly appreciated by the people. Along with the cultural program, the tourism department had also put up stalls of various delicacies of Duggar state. People also enjoyed Dogri cuisine. During this, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Raghav Langar, Director of Tourism Jammu Vivekanand Rai and other officials were present in the program.
Dogri food festival to be held in Jammu Haat today
Due to the abrogation of Article 370 and Kovid-19, Navratri celebrations took place in a lot of simplicity for the last two years. This time for two years, the temple town is witnessing a wave of euphoria and joy at the Navratri festival. Along with organizing Ramlila, various cultural programs are being organized in the city. After Dandiya Night in Jammu, Dogri food festival and traditional costumes will be displayed at Jammu Haat today and Mata Ki Bhunat program will be organized at Raghunath Bazar on 13th October.
