Drug Smuggler Arrested With Opium In Kurukshetra

Kurukshetra police have nabbed a drug smuggler, who had brought opium worth 45 lakhs from Jharkhand in a car. The accused Ajit, a resident of Shahabad here, has been taken on remand for eight days. Police is interrogating him. In return for the opium he got, he was to get a commission.

Police have arrested a smuggler carrying opium worth about 45 lakh rupees. The accused had brought 26 kg opium from Jharkhand in a car of Delhi number to be sold to some person in Shahabad in Kurukshetra district. The accused is Ajit, a resident of Shahabad. The accused was to get commission in return for drug trafficking. The police have registered a case against the accused under the Narcotics Act. The accused has been produced in the court and taken on remand for eight days. Superintendent of Police Himanshu Garg said that on October 13, the team of Inspector Mandeep Singh, in-charge of Crime Investigation Branch-2, was present under the Barara Chowk, Shahabad flyover. During this, Mandeep Singh got information that Anoop alias Bittu resident HUDA, Shahabad is doing business of selling opium.

Intoxication was brought in the car of Delhi number

Police had received information that the accused Ajit Singh alias Pindra alias Kala, resident of Dhakala, gets opium from Jharkhand by paying money to the police station Shahabad. On Wednesday also, Ajit will come to Shahabad in his car with opium for Anoop passing through Shani Mandir. The police team started checking by blocking the service road towards Ratangarh. After some time the police team saw a Delhi number car approaching. The police stopped him and on search, 26 kg 500 grams of opium kept in a plastic can was recovered from the seat of the car. During the interrogation of the police, the accused told that he had bought this opium from Jharkhand. He had to give this drug to Anoop and take his commission. Police is looking for accused Anoop alias Bittu and others.
