Many farmers had planted hybrid paddy, it is ready fifteen days back. Farmers are wandering to sell it. Paddy has started turning black in the fields itself. Paddy is grown on four thousand hectares of land in Nalagarh. This year the paddy of Himachal farmers is not being taken in the mandis of Punjab.

Paddy harvested at Rs 6500 per hectare
Domanwala farmer Amarchand Thakur said that due to Corona, planting and collecting paddy this year was very expensive. Farmers paid wages for planting paddy of Rs.4000 per hectare. After spraying and applying water several times, the paddy was prepared. Now the harvesting of paddy is also being paid Rs 6500 per hectare. Now the paddy is ripe so there is no arrangement to buy it.

Saned farmer Devraj Choudhary told that the farmers who had planted early paddy crop are facing problem in selling them, but FCI has started booking on the portal. Paddy procurement will be started by October 15. On the other hand, Rajesh Kaushik, Deputy Director, Agriculture Department said that FCI will soon buy paddy from farmers in Nalagarh. This time paddy will be procured only in the grain market of Nalagarh.
