Ganja worth Rs 42 lakh was caught from this district of the state, used to smuggle in coconut sacks

Anuppur. In Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh, police have recovered more than 433 kg of ganja from two vehicles, the value of which is estimated to be around Rs 42 lakh. Out of this, Jaithari police has seized 400 kg while Kotwali police has seized 43.3 kg ganja. The police informed about this. According to a release issued by the police, information was received on Saturday that a large consignment of ganja is coming from Chhattisgarh to Anuppur for sale. Taking the information seriously, all the station in-charges of the district started intensive investigation. Meanwhile, during investigation, information was received that a vehicle is parked on the side of the road in suspicious condition near a petrol pump in Jaithari, on which a special team of Jaithari police visited the spot and inspected the vehicle, the release said. Around 400 kg of ganja was kept in a plastic sack beneath the raw coconut, which is estimated to cost around Rs 40 lakh. Accordingly, the vehicle used for smuggling ganja and its smuggling has also been seized.

Information received from unknown people
Meanwhile, Kotwali police station got information from the informer that unknown vehicle was coming in suspicious condition from Jaithari towards Anuppur, which was blocked by the special team of Kotwali Anuppur near Harri-Barri gate. It said that during investigation, about 43.3 kg of ganja was found in 44 plastic packets from the vehicle, which was confiscated by the police. It has been said that its value has been estimated at around Rs 2 lakh. The police have also seized the car. Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) against unknown accused in both the cases and the search is on for the accused.
