New Delhi: Till Sunday (October 10) 95 crore doses of corona vaccine have been given in the country. The Union Health Ministry gave this information. The ministry said that the total number of doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine administered so far in the country crossed the 95 crore mark on Sunday. According to data from the Co-Vin portal, more than 44 lakh doses of the vaccine were administered till 7 pm on Sunday.

At the same time, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also tweeted on this occasion. He wrote in the tweet, “World’s largest successful vaccination campaign in full swing! India has given 95 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses. Moving fast towards providing 100 crore vaccine doses.”

Significantly, the nationwide immunization campaign was launched on January 16 with the first phase vaccinating the health workers (HCWs) in the country. The vaccination of frontline personnel against Kovid-19 started from February 2.

The next phase of COVID-19 vaccination began on March 1 for people aged 60 and above and those aged 45 years and above suffering from other diseases. The country started vaccination for all people over the age of 45 from 1 April.

The government then decided to expand its vaccination campaign by allowing everyone over the age of 18 to be vaccinated from May 1. Right now, all people above 18 years of age are being vaccinated across the country to prevent corona virus infection.
