Although Kartik Aaryan has starred in a remake of a Korean film (The Terror Live which is going to stream on Netflix as Dhamaka in November 2021), he has never been a part of a South Indian remake. .
It’s about to change now. Shahzada whose release was announced for 4 November 2022 is a remake of Allu Arjun’s January 2020 Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapuramulu.
It was the biggest hit of Allu Arjun’s career so far. In an interview after the release of the film, he told me, “What can I say? I am amazed It is also very humbling to get this kind of response.”
Arjun shyly admitted that he had never received so much praise for any of his previous films. “The two things I keep hearing about Ala Vaikunthapuramulu over and over again are that it is a one-man show, and it has repeat value. As far as being a one-man show is concerned, I cannot take credit for my performance. Full credit should go to my director Trivakram Srinivas.”
Karthik’s version of Ala Vaikunthapuramulu will be radically different from its Telugu version.
A source close to Kartik told. “Shehzada Ala will take the original idea of Vaikunthapuramulu and turn it into something completely different. Kartik Aur Shahzada director Rohit Dhawan has done several brainstorming sessions on the remake. And they both agree. Shehzada will delight Kartik’s fans.
But the superhit song from the original Butta Bomma will be part of the Hindi remake. So fans of the song can heave a sigh of relief.
Shehzada co-stars Kartik with Kriti Sanon with whom he previously shared the superhit spot in Lukka Chuppi. The original film starred Pooja Hegde opposite Allu Arjun.
