On Wednesday, the police, SOG and SWAT team arrested the main accused in the gang-rape case of a 55-year-old Dalit woman by force of arms in Jewar Kotwali area. The four accused had carried out the incident of gang rape with the woman. In this case, the police has already sent one of the accused to jail. However, two accused are still absconding. Police officials say that soon other accused will also be arrested.
Let us tell you that on October 10, the incident of gang-rape was carried out with a Dalit woman who had gone to get fodder for cattle from the land acquired for the Jewar airport. On protesting, the accused assaulted the woman and used casteist words. On the complaint of the family members of the woman, the police had registered a case against Mahendra, resident of Dayanatpur village and unknown three accused under sections like gangrape, SC / ST Act etc. After the incident, the police was looking for the accused. Earlier, the police had arrested one of the accused Devdutt. When the main accused was not arrested, the police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on him, since then the police was looking for the main accused Mahendra.
Police engaged in search of other accused
DCP Vrinda Shukla said that on the basis of information, the main accused Mahendra has been arrested from Dayanatpur on the road of small canal going to Nagla Jahanu village. He has been jailed for theft in the past as well. He said that the accused is addicted to ganja. Police teams are raiding from place to place in search of other accused who are absconding.
