Opposition parties have raised questions on the purchase of new luxury vehicles purchased by the Channi government of Punjab for Rs 4.25 crore for the cabinet. BJP, AAP and BSP leaders have said that the new government is spending extravagantly. The Chief Minister should not take such steps. They probably do not know that every person in Punjab has got a loan of Rs.82 thousand.

Leader of Opposition and senior AAP leader Harpal Singh Cheema has said that it is unfortunate that in a state where people do not have proper roads, vehicles are being taken for ministers by spending crores. He said that the head of the government should not waste public money by doing such wasteful expenditure.

State General Secretary of BJP Dr. Subhash Sharma said that the new government of Punjab is not a government of common people. The new ministers of the Punjab government are traveling by chartered planes and by expensive vehicles. Already the state is in debt and such decisions of the government are making the situation worse. He said that the situation is such that the government does not even have the money to pay the salary and pension of the employees. Even after that, this extravagance is being done in the name of vehicles.

State President of BSP Jasveer Singh Garhi said that due to the governments so far, the debt of thousands of crores of rupees is increasing on Punjab every year. Due to the policies of the government, the state’s treasury is lying empty. Every child is in debt. Garhi said that at present every person of the state is in debt of Rs.82 thousand. He warned the government that the BSP would soon hit the road against such decisions of the government.
