Team India Interim Coach: Former Indian cricket team captain Rahul Dravid can once again be the coach of Team India. He can be entrusted with this responsibility for the home series against New Zealand. According to ‘Indian Express’, Rahul Dravid can be given the responsibility of coaching Team India for the series against New Zealand starting on November 17.
Let us tell you that Ravi Shastri will be the coach of Team India till the T20 World Cup. After Shastri, the board wants to give this responsibility to an Indian only. The names of Anil Kumble and VVS Laxman also came up for the coach of Team India, but these two veterans have backed out of this responsibility. At the same time, many former players of Australia have also shown interest in becoming the coach of the Indian team, but the board is trying to give this responsibility to an Indian only.
A BCCI official told The Indian Express, “We wanted the candidate we think best suited for this responsibility to first agree. It is better to find a suitable candidate first, till then Dravid can be the interim coach. The BCCI wants the new coaching staff to take over their responsibility before the tour of South Africa.
Dravid has already handled the responsibility of coaching
Rahul Dravid has been the coach of the Indian team even before this. He assumed this responsibility during the Sri Lanka tour in July this year. Then head coach Ravi Shastri was with Team India on the tour of England. Team India won the ODI series under Dravid’s coaching. However, he had to face defeat in the T20 series.
