The Emerging Player Award for the opening season of IPL was in the name of Shreevats Goswami.  After this, in the year 2009, it went to Rohit Sharma, who was then a part of Deccan Chargers. So far, out of 14 players who have become IPL Emerging Players, 6 players have left their mark completely at the international level.  Among them are the names of Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Mustafizur Rahman, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Shubman Gill.  On the other hand, Sanju Samson has not fully exploited the opportunities he has got.  While the experience of Padikkal and Gaikwad is only 2-2 matches.  But in the eyes of cricket pundits, both are the future of Indian cricket.  Apart from these 9, 5 players never got a chance to debut and their career was confined to domestic cricket.
