Gautam Gambhir’s statement on Hardik Pandya’s bowling

In the T20 World Cup, Team India will start its campaign from October 24. He has to play his first match against arch-rivals Pakistan. But before this important match, the tension of Team India is tight about Hardik Pandya. Actually, the reason for this is Pandya’s fitness. Hardik Pandya’s role in Team India is that of an all-rounder. But since the surgery, he has kept a distance from the ball. In IPL 2021 too, Hardik batted, but stayed away from bowling. This is the main reason for the concern of Team India before the T20 World Cup. And this reason is not hidden from anyone. This is the reason why former cricketer Gautam Gambhir has raised question marks about him.

Talking in the Star Sports show Game Plan, former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir said that if I want to go with only 5 bowlers, then I will choose Ishan Kishan in the team before Hardik Pandya based on the current performance. He said that in recent times, Hardik has been suppressed by bowling. Also, the batting has not shown much in his rhythm. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan has done well.

There is a big difference between bowling to the nets and Babar Azam: Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir said that Hardik Pandya can get a place in Team India’s playing XI only if he is seen bowling not only in the nets but also in both the warm-up matches played before clashing with Pakistan. Hardik should be given a place in the playing XI in that case. Because there is a huge difference between bowling in the nets and bowling against a quality batsman like Babar Azam in important events like the World Cup.

India warm up matches

India have to play 2 warm-up matches before taking on Pakistan on 24 October. One of these matches is against England on 18 October, while the second match is to be played by Team India against Australia on 20 October. India would like to prepare their right combination of playing XI by capitalizing both these matches well. England and Australia are both strong teams. So it would be right for India to test its stamina.
