One of them is Umran Malik, who played only 3 matches in IPL 2021 season. The 21-year-old fast bowler, who made his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), surprised everyone with his astonishing speed and caught everyone’s attention. Umran may not have got much opportunities in this season, but he has done so much work in the opportunities that he has got, that now he is being included with Team India. It has been decided to include Umran as a net bowler with the Indian team for the T20 World Cup to be held in the UAE this month.

According to the report of news agency ANI, the Indian selectors have decided that along with the main bowlers, net bowlers will also be kept for the preparation of the team’s batsmen and it has been decided to include Umran Malik. A BCCI source said about this, “Yes, he will be with the team as a net bowler. He impressed a lot in the IPL and we thought it would be good for the batsmen to face him in the nets. Bowling to batsmen like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will also give him good exposure.”

Debut on October 3, Record on October 6

Umran surprised everyone in his debut match against Kolkata Knight Riders on 3 October. Umran bowled at a speed of 150 kmph in his opening overs and continued it. Not only the speed, but he also impressed with his correct line and length. With this performance, he came in the eyes of everyone and then on October 6, Umran did the real wonders.

In the match against RCB, Umran bowled Devdutt Padikkal for three consecutive deliveries at a speed above 150 in his second over, with the third ball hitting a speed of 153 kmph, which set the record for the fastest delivery of the season.

After this match, Bangalore and Team India captain Virat Kohli also praised Umran and said that it is very important to handle and groom such talent. Now Umran has got the reward for his hard work.

Had come in place of Natarajan in SRH

Before 3 October 2021, the Indian cricket world had not even heard anything about Umran Malik. Umran was included by Sunrisers Hyderabad as a replacement for T Natarajan at the start of the second half of the IPL 2021 season in the UAE. Natarajan was in the grip of corona infection. Jammu and Kashmir’s Umran Malik was associated with Sunrisers as a net bowler for some time and was included in the main squad after impressing the team management with his pace there.
