Recently, the safety ratings of Tata Motors’ first micro SUV Tata Punch have been revealed. This SUV has got a 5 star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. Not only this, in terms of points, this car has left behind all the other vehicles. That is, it is the safest car in India. The launch of Tata Punch is going to happen on October 18. It is expected that its starting price can be around Rs 5.5 lakh. Thus, it can be the cheapest among all the other vehicles with 5 star rating.

Tata Punch has got 5 stars in adult safety rating during the Global NCAP crash test. It scored 16.45 points out of 17. Similarly, in terms of child safety, this SUV has scored 40.89 points out of 49, giving it a 4 star rating in this category. This is the highest score achieved by any car in India. In safety tests, the Punch has been found to be stable and better to withstand impact from the front.

Other vehicles got so many points
Three more vehicles – Mahindra XUV300, Tata Altroz, and Tata Nexon – come in the list of 5 star safety ratings in the Global NCAP crash test. Talking about adult safety rating, here Mahindra XUV300 got 16.42 points out of 17, Tata Altroz got 16.13 points and Tata Nexon got 16.06 points. Similarly, in terms of child safety, Mahindra XUV300 got 37.44 points out of 49, Tata Altroz got 29 points and Tata Nexon got 25 points.

Safety Features of Tata Punch
For safety, it has been provided with features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, front fog lamps with cornering function, reverse parking camera, rear defogger and puncture repair kit. This micro SUV has been introduced with 4 variants namely Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. The company claims that 5 things have been taken care of while making the Tata Punch: commanding driving position, high ground clearance, space, comfort and customer safety.
