Dehradun : Mohan Bhagwat, the Sarsangh Chalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, said on Sunday, ‘We should teach our children to have respect for our religion and worship so that they do not go towards other ‘sects’. At an event in Uttarakhand’s Haldwani with the families of Rashtriya Swayamsevaks, Bhagwat said, ‘How does the conversion happen? Why give up on traditional worship? How do the boys and girls of their house go to other religions? To get married, because of petty interests.’

He said, ‘The converts are wrong, that is a different matter. But we do not prepare our children. We have to give its sanskar in our home. Respect for your religion, respect for worship, should prepare your children.’ Sarsangh Chalak said that if we bring a change in our social style, then India can become a Vishwaguru. For this, he insisted that we should do our language, language, building, tour, bhajan and food according to our tradition.

Margaret Thatcher, mentioned the Vedic period

Bhagwat said that the whole world is following the traditions of India. Referring to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in this regard, he said that once she had said how to serve our parents, we have to learn from India about these traditions. He said that from Vedic times to Mahabharata, our scriptures tell us how to follow Dharma.

Bhagwat said that we should also worry about the poor section in the society and get out of the shackles of caste and creed. Bhagwat said that along with going to Paris and Singapore, one should also visit pilgrimage centers in India like Kashi, Jallianwala Bagh and other pilgrimages. He said, ‘We should also keep pictures of freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Veer Savarkar, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh.’ He said that sometimes it is okay to eat pizza etc., but we should have our traditional food at home.
