On Friday, Union Minister Scindia announced the new heli policy at the third heli conference in association with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Federation of Indian Chambers of Industry and Commerce (FICCI), Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority. He said that the government has made a new policy to promote the heli industry. At present, there are only 190 helicopters operating in the country. Under the new policy, an expressway will be developed between Delhi-Mumbai, Ambala-Kotpuli, Ambala-Bhatinda-Jamnagar for emergency helicopter medical service.
So that patients can get immediate medical care. Apart from this, four heli hubs of Juhu, Guwahati, Delhi and Bangalore will be built in Mumbai. 82 routes in 10 cities have been identified for development of helicopter corridors. Initially, 6 routes will be made operational with four helicopters. Which will be between Juhu-Pune, Malalakshmi Race Course-Pune, Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad.

He said that a centralized heli service portal has been created to allow helicopter operations. Due to which heli companies will not have to make rounds for permission. Heli companies will be given exemption in landing and parking charges for helicopters anywhere in the country. Airports Authority of India and Air Traffic Control officials will be trained and sensitized to address issues related to heli services. An advisory body will be set up to improve regulatory ease for the helicopter industry.
Heli direction book will be given to DM of every district
The Union Minister said that Heli Disha Book will be given to the District Magistrate of every district of the country. In which there will be information about the standards for helicopter operation. The effort of the government is to reduce human interference by allowing heli service operation through digital. The air defense clearance has been extended to three hours instead of the earlier half an hour, as per the Civil Aviation Rules, in collaboration with the Defense Ministry.
