A scary incident happened with a person resident of Rajpur Chungi in Agra. A five feet long rat snake entered his car. When he opened the door to sit in the car, seeing a snake sitting on the front seat, his hair stood up. He immediately contacted Wildlife SOS’s helpline (+91-9917109666).

As soon as the rescue team opened the door of the car, the snake came out rapidly and entered the space between the wheel and the fender (pillar at the corner of the vehicle’s surface). The rescue operation lasted for several hours, as the car had to be taken to a service center. The fender liner was cut to secure the snake. After hard work, the rescue team successfully pulled out the snake and rescued it.

‘I was shocked to see the snake’
Car owner Prem Singh, who called Wildlife SOS, said that we were horrified after seeing the snake in the car. The snake has been rescued, but I am still puzzled as to how the snake got inside the car even though the doors and windows were closed.

Karthik Satyanarayana, CEO and Co-Founder, Wildlife SOS, said that people often panic when they find snakes close to them, in fact snakes are also very afraid of humans, but if provoked or caught incorrectly, they can also bite. You have to be very careful in catching them.

Baijuraj MV, Director Conservation Projects, Wildlife SOS, said that saving a snake from such a situation can be quite challenging as we need to ensure that the snake does not become more disturbed. Such sensitive rescue operations require the patience of expert staff as well as a high level of skill to deal with these situations.
