Work from home culture is beneficial for women and disabled, opportunities are increasing

Kochi. The trend of working from home is increasing in the information technology sector. With this, mothers of newly awarded children and differently-abled are also able to join the workforce and this is having a positive impact on the society. John M Thomas, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IT Parks in Kerala said this. He said companies will continue to operate in such ‘mixed’ ways and will not reduce the workforce.

In a statement released on Friday, Thomas said, “Working from home has gained more acceptance and is going to continue. The addition of handicapped people has led to an expansion of the workforce, as well as a reduction in traffic congestion in the cities.”

He said the industry is getting back on track and employees are slowly returning to their offices after spending more than 18 months on the work-from-home model. Thomas said companies in the state are planning to resume work from office by early next year with the easing of COVID-19 rules, relaxation of restrictions and full immunization of employees. He said that IT companies would like to adopt a blended working model, both from home and office.
