Indore, Naidunia Representative, World Mental Day 2021 Indore. The corona pandemic has adversely affected the minds of not only adults but also children and adolescents. In this era of epidemic, the screen time of children has increased. They are becoming dependent on elders. Problems such as irritability, not going to school, fear of meeting people, lack of interest in physical activities, unwilling to make friends, lack of attention, anxiety, impracticality and emotional disorders are seen in children and adolescents. It is the responsibility of the parents, teachers and every section of the society to remove the children and adolescents from these problems.
This was stated by Cognitive Behavior Therapist Dr. Ishina Choudhary in the webinar. She was addressing a webinar organized on Monday to commemorate World Mental Health Day. He said that in this era of epidemic, parents should provide a safe family environment to remove the mental problems faced by the children. Younger children demand more attention of their parents than adolescents. They require the physical presence of their parents and engage in more indoor sporting activities with them.
Dr. Chowdhary said that the child should focus on “good behaviour” rather than “bad behaviour”. Tell children more about the options do’s and don’ts. Parents should pay attention to the behavior of the children. Pay attention to the interests of the children as well. Lead them towards positive and constructive work. Engage children in social activities and try to get out of the grip of internet media. Getting angry at the children will not help. They have to be explained with love and logic. We have to change the mindset of the children.
